After Minneapolis, Shak and the van headed south to Des Moines, where the contest was rained out. Rain sucks but at least we got a sweet edit anyway. It would have been a bummer except that about 150 people had showed up for the contest and were still there when we rolled in. We hooked them up with Chipotle burritos and played around with the Tech Decks. A tiny bit of actual skating did happen; a kid ollied the 10 stair in the rain!
The winner in this edit might be the kid getting choked out.
Just 2 days after Des Moines, we got into one of our favorite cities on the tour: Kansas City. Our Escapist homies came out to the Penn Valley Skatepark and hung out. Ryan Lovell, Max Chilen, JLo, Malto, and the whole KC crew were cruisin around. Josh Crane pulled up in 3rd place and Zack Doeing grabbed second place. Weston Sparks took first with a hardflip, bs flip, varial heel, nollie flip and more down the set.
There was so much good skating going that we had to do a best trick contest. Cody McBee took the best trick with a smith kf out on the Converse box. KC is always a great stop!.
